Good bye tumblr.

The Kuttas

I would firstly like to begin with reminding readers, what I write is my personal opinion, observation of the topic. Don’t hate.

Since the beginning of the new year, the middle-east & north Africa have been protesting, revolting against “tyrannical leadership”. First Tunisia, then Egypt and now as I type away, Libya, Bahrain, Yemen, Morocco & Kuwait are protesting against their respective political establishments. In between Myanmar (formerly Burma) managed to peacefully hold elections, ousting the military rule after 50 years I believe.

I am a believer of conspiracy theories, they exist. It’s your decision as to how much you want to believe. This “revolution bug” is nothing but an Israeli political tactic to further weaken the Islamic states & people. A divide & conquer strategy. Nothing beats civil unrest, when the people of a nation are fighting amongst themselves, fighting against their political leader, is there a better way to shoot yourself in the foot and send yourself back a quarter-century of political & economical years?

A little recap. Earlier in this millennium, the United States was a victim of a horrendous act of destruction and terror. On September 11 2001, the World Trade Centre towers in New York city were brought down by two hijacked commercial airliners. Part of the pentagon was destroyed by another hijacked aircraft. My sympathies and condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in those horrific events. However that too was the product of, not bearded men in caves of Afghanistan, but a group of individuals controlling worldwide politics. They exist, to them the world is just a giant playground. That group is also in control of the world’s economies. For future reference in this blog, I will call them “the Kuttas”.

Subsequently the result of 9/11 was attacks on Afghanistan and then Iraq. One of the underlying motto for the invasions on those nations was: Liberation & Democracy. I don’t remember the people of Afghanistan & Iraq writing a letter to George W. Bush requesting for his “heroics”. I have lost count of the number of times I have seen on Al Jazeera & BBC, people of those “liberated” nations, particularly Iraq, regretting the involvement of United States and the Allied forces in their quest for a political change & improvement. Saddam Hussain was apparently an evil man, tyrant, dictator & heartless. However was Iraq not a politically & economically stable state? They were well on their path of recovery from the Gulf war. The Taliban were apparently oppressive, hardcore, hardline muslims who wanted Afghanistan to live in the middle ages. However under their rule, wasn’t the production of opium in Afghanistan annihilated? Wasn’t Afghanistan a slightly more peaceful place to live? Weren’t there very fewer displaced Afghani refugees across the world? They too were on their path to recovery from the Soviet Invasion.

How a country chooses to grow and age is of no ones concern but the people of the nation. Which beings us back to today.

I feel the American interference in Iraq and Afghanistan, their so called liberation left a subliminal idea in the minds of people in the region. An idea. Resilient, highly contagious. Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it’s almost impossible to iradicate. An idea that is fully formed, fully understood. That sticks like a virus.

The world’s economy is in the dumps, resulting in high amounts of unemployment & inflation. So now, who in their right mind thought that creating a deliberate political unrest and further hurting our fragile economy would be beneficial? That is how “the Kuttas” work.

Not so much Egypt & Bahrain, they have the political & financial power to get out of this mess however Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, Yemen and anyone else following in their footsteps, are just going destroy something that’s working, inefficiently yes, but still working. You don’t break something that works, unless you know how to fix it back into working condition.

Saddam Hussain, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, Husni Mubarak and now Colonel Gaddafi are all facing/already faced the wrath of their people, the same people who they have protected for over 20 years, create a sovereign state for, provide a sense of continuity & stability. Already Al Jazeera is reporting about Tunisian youth leaving for Europe, mainly Italy for work. Was that not a possibility under Ben Ali? Did he handcuff you to your houses? The current economic climate is not a reason to blame your leader, throw him/her off the chair and then struggle for years to come.

What is unfortunately going to happen now, is the creation of more Pakistan-like nations. A democratic nation, fighting for stability since 1947. Would Pakistan have been better off under rule of the British Empire? Don’t know. Would Pakistan have been better of being a part of India? Don’t Know. What we do know is we’re not any better off now. In between the Bhuttos, the Military & the Shareefs, Pakistan continues to decimate, be America’s puppet in the so called war on terror & still have yet to resolve the issue of Kashmir. Some believe that the creation of Pakistan too, was the working of “the Kuttas”.

Yes, you can have your moments of glory, your January 14, February 11 or August 14, but those days will be remembered because of the dead, the injured, the civil unrest that followed, the refugees, a worser economy, debt to richer nations, a rise in crime and decrease in safety.

I now ask all of you jumping on the Revolution bandwagon, have you realistically though about what is happening? What is going to happen? Freedom is a great notion, but what is the price? What is freedom?

C’est moi

For those who know me or even if you don’t, I’m mainly a classic rock listener. Anything with well composed guitar, drums, trippy lyrics and prior to the 90’s I’ll listen to.

However every once in a while, I’ll blow the dust off Dr. Dre’s Chronic 2001 cd and just play it endlessly on repeat. Personally, the only rap worth listening to. ONLY.

ahh yes the memories from that era.

cue: Still Dre

Every aspiring parent needs to master the art; the famous Archie slap.

Oh how i remember similar slaps being administered. The memories, the lessons. :) Thank you whoever slapped me, when i was growing up. I am a stronger person now due to your misplaced sense of affection.

21st century kids are weak.

Do you remember such inflictions?

So I have till saturday to pack up everything, return the keys to my landlord & fly to dubai. I have no idea where to begin. Clothes? documents? books?

Any suggestions?

Why Pakistan will win the cricket world cup…

Here’s an excerpt from a satirical piece by Imran Yusuf.

You want the truth from the fumbling, fudging, fibbing trio of Butt, Amir and Asif? Try this: put them in a room, one after the other, with Imran Khan. No one-way mirror, no lawyers, no Holy Quran for them to swear on. Just a table and two chairs. Let Imran ask the questions, flanked on one side by Javed Miandad, dressed in prison-guard uniform, and on the other, firmly in front of the exit door, Inzamam-ul-Haq, wielding one of those illegally wide tape-ball bats. The truth shall not just prevail but burst forth from the accuseds’ lips like they were on Mount Olympus faced with the wrath of all the gods.
